2025 Was the Year I Starting Soaking

Over the summer, I went to a reiki share that was being offered at a local park during a drum circle. The reiki session was powerful. It turned out to be much more shamanic, with a lot of talking and pronunciations from the woman offering it than I'd typically experienced. Hearing about my spirit guides and ancestors was a little overwhelming since that hasn't been a part of my spiritual practice. I was tempted to disregard a lot of what she said because of my own self conscious reaction to her intensity.

But she told me one thing that really stuck with me. I needed to take more baths.

I have a beard!

Standing over me in a folding chair at the park, a red haired woman fired off the advice she was receiving from the spirit world in a breathless rapid fire of words. Eyes closed she admonished me to put more work into clearing my energy.

"You should be taking a bath with epson salts at least once a week."

Then holding her hand up she paused like someone had just interrupted her and corrected herself.

"No, once a day. If you can't do that everyday at leasts use a salt scrub in the shower."

Since I'd already realized that I needed to do more to clear my energy and let go of what I care from my interactions with my clients and loved ones, I decided to give it a try.

Thus began my year of trying to take more baths. And I have to say, the spirits were right on the money with this one. Taking a bath does clear my energy. I can meditate, listen to music, and create my own safe warm pool of acceptance. I highly recommend it as a low-cost self care ritual.

And because I'm often a little stoned and feeling sexy while I'm there, I took a lot of bath time selfies. My husband Rambles also acted as a photographer a few times. And some of these photos are just too good not to share. They make me feel sexy, so the rest of the post is for the harem.
